—* FOOTBALLER LNJLttLiJ Brian Miller, of the Esplanade, New Brighton, received an injury to his head while playing football on day, and was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital, suffering from/ concussion. James McKee, aged 82, while sitting in his bedroom, fell out of his chair and struck his head en the bed ( He died shortly afterwards. WOMAN INJURED. DUNEDIN, July 8. Margaret Selwood, aged 45, married,;. was knocked down by a motor-car at Mosgiel, and suffered a fractured leg , and head injuries. She was taken to ■ hospital. CHILD SUFFOCATED. AUCKLAND, July 9.' A second case of a baby being sitffocatea in its mother's bed sxas oc- ; curred in a week. At an inquest JBJO " the death of a male child 10 days 010 - found dead in its mother's bed at Bm- •< mont, Takapuna, the evidence showed that the child was taken into bed bv., its mother who afterwards went to sleep. On awakening she found that the baby was dead. The coroner rt- : ! turned a verdict of death by accidental suffocation.
