RANGIORA POULTRY SHOW.

* CAT AND RABBIT SECTIONS JUDGED. The North Canterbury Poultry, Pigeon, ;, nd Canary Club's annual show concluded °n Saturday, when the cat and rabbit sections were judged. The number of entries in those sections fell below last year's total, '■■ specially in the cat section There were no exhibits eligible for the South Island toultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association's chumpionsliip for smoke, blue, or black leisiun female cat, more than cignt months. The Biggs memorial cup for the beHt Persian male more than eight months was won by Mrs A. Arnold. The club's challenge trophy for the best bird in the show was won by a white self tumbler pigeon, exhibited by C. A. Gallop. The W. T. Wilson memorial cup, which this yeai was nHotted to the best bird in the open classes was awarded to G. H. Nicoll, who benched an attractive Black Orpington pullet. This year the T. Loveday memorial cup was assigned to the canary section and was won by J. A. Morris. On Saturday evening there was a fair attendance, especially of poultry fanciers froTi Christchurh. Several guessing competitions m aid of the club's funds were won by f.he following:—Weight of 6keep, Mr C. S. Ayers; pen of three poultry, won by Mr F. Cassidy; sark of potatoes, won by Mr A. <I. Miles. The arrangements made for staging the cats and rabbits this year, inside the hall instead of in a marquee outside, gave considerable satisfaction to exhibitors. The president, Mr K. Wheeler, and secretary, Mr A. K. Hawkins, were congratulated on the thoroughness of tho arrangements made for the show. The Awards.
