Time, 14min 9 l-ssec. A British record. Two Miles Steeplechase—V. Isohollo (Finland) 1. Time, lOmin 6 3-ssec. 120 Yards Hurdles—D. Findlay (holder) 1. Time, 15sec. Quarter Mile Hurdles—Facelli (Italy) 1, Lord Burghley (holder) 2. Time, 53 3-ssec. Weight Putting—Z. Heijasz (Poland) 1. Distance, 51 feet 81 inches. A British record. Pole Vault—D. Innocenti (Italy) 1. Height, 12 feet Qh inches. High Jump—M. Bodosi (Hungary) 1. Height, Oft 3in. Long Jump—L. Ealogh (Hungary) 1. Distance, 23 feet 2\ inches. Quarter Mile Relay—Preussenkrefeld Club (Berlin) 1. Time, 43sec. J. E. Lovelock was absent in America with the university team. Foreign challengers robbed the British holders of athletic championships, notably Lehtinen, who led the Englishmen by 80 yards at the end of a mile, after which he lapped several competitors, and won by 200 yards. Cerati, an Italian, was second. Isohollo, the Olympic winner, similarly spreadeagled the field in his event in the best championship time. Evenson, the holder, was fourth. Facelli beat Lord Burghley by one and a half yards.
