THE CROMWELL GOLDFIELD.

TO 'l'll E EDITOH 0/ 'I'HK TRKSS. Sir, —As regards the Cromwell goldfield I should advise people to go easy about the idea that the Kawarau ever Entered the Clutha at Dead Man's Point, in spite of Professor Park's opinion. The indications are that the old river bed rejoins the Kawarau just above Chinatown, and the gold at .Dead Man's Point is from the Pisa range, the strippings of which have filled the old lake bed. The subject is a very fascinating one, the pros and cons of which have been fought out in camps and hotels for many a year past by those of us who worked the ground.—Yours, etc., KAWARAU. July 3, 1933.
