UNITED FIRE BRIGADES.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE. (FRZHS iSSOCJATIOUT fSWOIIAJf.) WELLINGTON, April 26. The United Fire Brigades' Association's conference was continued to-day, when a demonstration of the latest fire-fighting appliances was given. Gold stars for 25 years' service were presented to Superintendent Craig (Hamilton), Foreman Williams (Hokitika), and Secretary Lakin (Hokitifca). The following officers were elected: President, Superintendent -A. Boon (New Plymouth); vice-president, Superintendent H. E. Follas (Devonport) and Deputy-Superintendent Wilson (Milton); secretary, Captain T. J. Watts (Newmarket); treasurer and secretary, Mr C. A. Osborne (Onehunga). Hamilton applied for the next conference. but nothing was decided.
