PAPANUI PROGRESS LEAGUE.
THE NEW TECHNICAL COLLEGE.
Mr W. J. Boyce presided at the monthly meeting of the Papanui Progress League, held last evening. A report on the deputation which, waited on the Technical College Board of Governors regarding the new college on Langdon's road was given by Mr J. Sturrock. Mr R. W. Hawke, M.P., wrote stating that he had interviewed the Minister for Education, the Hon. R. Masters, on the new college, and had received a reply that there was no money available at present. Mr Hawke suggested writing direct to the Minister. Mr H. Holland, M.P., also wrote stating that the Minister would be visiting Christchurch shortly, and"-promising to give ample warning of• his'visit. It was decided to wait on the Minister when in the city, and to wait on Mr Hawke, asking for his support Appreciation was expressed at the action of the Christchurch City Council in responding to the request of the league to tar-seal the road in front of the Memorial Hall.
