INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLS.
MR T. B. STRONG TO VISIT CHRISTCHURCH. A request from the Canterbury School Committees' Association that the Director of Education (Mr T. B. Strong) should visit Christchurch before the school committees' elections to address a special meeting of parents and school committee members on the intermediate school system has been granted by the Minister for Education (the Hon. R. Masters, M.L.C.). The school committees* elections will be held on May 1, and the meeting to be addressed by Mr Strong will be held on the previous Thursday (April 27 >- At the next meeting of the association, on April 12, a deputation led by the president of the Headmasters Association, Mr W. Colee and including representatives of the North Canterbury branch of the Educational Institute, the Assistant Masters' Association and the Men Teachers Guild, will submit its views on the intermediate schools system and its bearing on the primary school.
