ANNUAL SHOW.

AMURI AGRICULTURAL ANE PASTORAL ASSOCIATION. FINE SHEEP SECTIONS. A fine exhibition of sheep, particularly in the merino classes, was one of the outstanding features of the twenty-fourth annual show of the Amuri Agricultural and Pastoral Association, held at "Highfield," Waiau, yesterday. Although the total number of entries for the show was not a record, in many classes, including sheep, cookery, fruit, and root crops, horses and dogs, the standard of the exhibits and entries was notably high. Good work in other classes not directly associated with farming indicated the capabilities of many adult and child competitors. There were some photographic exhibits of the highest quality, for instance. More material successes were those of tne many entrants who gained prizes in the cookery section, and the hign standard which has been built up m these classes was, if anything, improved. Fruit classes displayed perhaps the most surprising variety. In the sheep classes merinos again proved outstanding, while the pens in some of the Corriedale classes displayed well-bred sheep. Entries m these classes and in the horse sections were numerically well up to the average. Some really outstanding saddlehorses showed, again, the returning popularity of the horse for recreation. Championships. • The champion ribbon for the best draught male was won by Mr H. Hartncll, and the ribbon for the best draught female by Mr G. Loflhagen. The Montrose Challenge Cup for the champion hack was won by Miss I. Rutherford, who was also awarded the champion ribbon for the best hack.
