Wallace then turned it into a play under the titlo of "Tho Ringer," which ran for 51 weeks at Wyndham's Thostre, London. It wa3 translated into French and German, and as a play was performed 1b every first-class theatre in thoso countries. It will commence its Christchurch season on Saturday next in tho form of a special talking production from the famous Gainsborough studios. It brings with it an enviable re-, putation as one of the strongest dramatic productions turned out from a British studio. Tha inimitable. Gordon Barker will be seen S* "Samuel liackett," the role he created and made famous in tho London stage production. "Dr. Lomond" will bo acted by Patric Curwea, a distinguished London player who has played the role for over two years on tho legitimate stage. His performance in that part with the Maurice Moscovitch company will be doubtless remembered by many Christchurch playgoers, franlclyn Dyall will bo seen in hig original role of "Meiitcr." great London stage cast is supported by John Longden, Carol Goodner, and Dorothy Bartlam.
