PATRIOTIC FUND.
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. The executive of the Canterbury Patriotic Fund met yesterday afternoon, Mr (!. J. R. Williams presiding over the following:—Messrs J. J. Dougall, F. W. Hobbs, F. M. Warren, the Rev. F. T. Read, Messrs G. A. Hayden, E. F. Willeox, E. A. Cuthbert, H. Fleck, and E. T. Tosswill (secretary). A letter was received from the National War Funds Council enclosing a cheque for £2OO, which the secretary reported had already been handed over to the Returned Soldiers' Association. The Finance Committee reported that, payments of £.200 and £266 13s id had been received from the trustees on account of the legacy of £BOO left to the fund by Harriet Butt. The solicitors for the" trustees had advised that no further payments were likely to be made until September next. * The committee also reported that the buildings of the Rannerdale Home were now covered by insurance to n total value of £4235 and that repairs to them had recently been carried out at a cost of £l6. The secretary reported the following details of work done by the executive during the past four months;— Oct. Nov. Dec. Jan.
