Auckland—The weather was fine yesterday morning, clouding at noon. Heavy rain showers were experienced early in the afternoon, clearing toward evening". The barometer remained low, the reading bing 29.65.
Wellington—Although yesterday worninsr was dull and overcast the clouds cleared about midday and the afternoon was beautifully snnny. A light southerly breeze Was blowing.
Dunedin—The weather was fine but overcast yesterday, and a light north-east breeze was blowing. Tho barometer was falling last evening and registered 29.80.
FORECAST. (From readings taken at t p.m.) General Situation.—The shallow depression centred near Auckland is moving eastward, while another is located over the south-rresfc Tasman Sea.
"Winds —Westerly at first in the far north, otherwise southcrlies prevailing; force mainly light to fresh, a change to northerlies commencing in the south to-morrov:. Seas (Sew Zealand waters). —Rough in tiuj far north; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea. —Moderate southerly winds, later tending northerly. Seas smooch to moderate. Weather. —Further rain and in places thunder in parts of the North Island, hut mainly in the central *nd eastern portions, and improving gradually; elsewhere fair to fine.
