ORGANISING THE STREET" APPEAL ATTITUDE OF Y.M.CLA. At a special meeting of the Board of ; Directors of the Young Men 'a ChrisiaAn ■# Association, held last' night, the general secretary, Mr A. J. McEldowney* re*: ported that the Mayor had approached Mr 'S. W. Jameson, and asked him to organise the street appeal to be held on - behalf of the Mayor's Relief 'of -Bis-" tress Fund on March 31. . As Mr J&nievj could not organise both the Afsoeia-. tion's and the' Mayor's appeal, the general secretary had consulted with one - or two members of the Board, ted it • was felt that in view of the special need for the Mayor's appeal Mr Jameson should be released ' from orgams-. ing the Association's appeal, which is * to be held on June 16. The directors confirmed the action of ' the general secretary and the several members of th© Board, it being jftfttcu that the Association had always e'ndeavoured to throw its whole weight behind . the Mayor's appeal, and that they realined that Mr Jameson's services- would be specially valuable in view of his past experience in organising the - Mayor's street appeal last year, The * matter of obtaining an organiser Of the , Association's appeal was left to* a fo- > ture meeting of the Board.
