OWLES CUP COMPETITION. The Owles Cup competition, a fh'6-raan alarm event, wai decided at Kow Eriffhton yesterday, the weather conditions being good. The president of the club, Mr A. "W. WAJMAIRJ SURF LIFESAVING CLUB. The Waimairi Surf Life-saving Club held its club competition for tho Hoy da Cup yesterday afternoon. Tho competition is «. Four-man rescue in the aurf. Six teams competed, and although' several of the boys wero quite new to the work, some very goad displays were given. Tho weather conditions were fair, a light south-we3ter blowing. Tho sea waa comparatively smooth, with tho water far from cold. The judges were Messrs A. E. Blank, A. Wilson, and F. J. Lawrence Scott. The results were: Town&end's Team—C. Townsend (belt), F.
