THE WEATHER.

Auckland—After rain throughout Friday night tho sky was overcast and threatening all day on Saturday, rain setting in again in the evening. Sunshine was experienced yesterday morning and in the early afternoon, the sky clouding toward evening. The barnmeter remained at a low level all the weekend, reading 29.60 at 6 p.m. Wellington—The weather was wet in Wellington over tho week-end. On Saturday the •wind turned to the south and there wero frequent and hoavy showers. About midday yesterday the rain ceased, but the cool southerly wind continued. Dunedin—Dull and overcast weather provailed on Saturday and a light north-east broeze was blowing. The barometer rose during the day. Yesterday was tiufl in the morning, but funny in the afternoon, the barometer falling slightly. The reading at 5 p.m. was 30.2Um. FORECAST. (From readings taken at i nan.) General Situation —pressure is high in th>? southern latitudes from Tasmania to eastern New Zealand, but has fallen slightly since last ni.ht over the west of the North Island. Winds—Variable in the far north, but elsewhere south to east prevailing, but moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Rough north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura; moderate thence southwards. Eastern Tasman Sea —Fresh to strong south to east winds, -with rough seas. Weather—Still cool and cloudy, with further rain probable in most districts, hut more especially in the eastern and northern portions of the North Island, where some heavy falls are still likely. Fair on tho west coast and the far south of the South Island.
