A Canterbury business .man who lias returned ,from a holiday in , Southland, informed "Straggler" yesterday that crops in that province and.South Otagb were looking extremely well. There was. a general complaint of dryness,' which to the Canterbury man seemed rather strange, but there undoubtedly was a prospective scarcity of fattening feed. Kape growth was backward, and the probabilities were that there would be a considerable movement of store lambs to South Canterbury and possibly further north for finishing off.
