The Bcndigo farmers, on their return from their New Zealand tour, eulogise the scenic attractions and speak highly of the welcome given, them, and of the opportunities to study Dominion farming methods, which they considered excellent. Sixteen 'members were so impressed that they remained another week to extend their studies and enquiries. The Tourist Department's arrangements for the tour were also praised, for they enabled the fullest use to be made of the time available.

Torrential rain along the far- northern coast and tablelands, reaching in places 15 inches in 48 hours, has brought all creeks and rivers up in flood, and has dislocated the railway services. The biggest barrier to traffic between Cairns and Townsville, on the main Brisbane route, is the Tully river, which is five feet over the railway lines,, and is still rising. <
