A NARROW ESCAPE.
* BOY SINGER IN DANGER. [THE P&EBS Special Service.] DUNEDIN, January 12. A narrow escape from drowning was experienced by Master Lex Macdonald, the well-known boy soprano, at St. Clair beach yesterday afternoon. Master Macdonald was swimming out in ths surf when a number of people on the beach saw that he had been caught by an undertow and swept away. Mr Ivan Turn bull went out immediately, and succeeded in reaching the boy. holding him up until the St Claii Surf Club teanl brought out a Hne. Mr Turnbull already holds a Humane Society award for effecting the rescue of a nurse at St. Clair two years ago.
