Country batted first and made 435 (Cameron CI, Massey 60, Norris 57, Hayward 82, Freeman 7G not out). Crook took thres Avickets for 07. and Griffiths three for 93. The Canterbury Cricket Association torwarded a letter from the Jfew Zealand Cricket Council which stated that in the opinion of the council tho formation of a Dominion Cricket Umpires' Association was unnecessary. The Lvttelton Club xwote in explanation of playing four men who had been considered unregistered. The chairman said that the leavers in question had been registered at the commencement of the season, but their names had been mislaid. It was decided to inform the club that the penalty imposed would be removed. The Stewart's Gully Club 'appointed Mr A. Chidgey as delegate iu place of Mr C. ,T. Holland, and asked for permission to plav Kin Ora (Aslihurton) on January -nd and Eird. The permission asked for was granted. The treasurer reported that several clubs had failed to pay dues, and it was decided to request payment within seven days or the cluhs would be suspended. It was decided to pay all reasonable, travelling expenses of umpires appointed to competition games. Mr L. Watson raised the question of reverting to one day matches for the renior and junior grndes, stating that in his opinion the baiting was deteriorating, and one-day games would tend to liven up the play. The matter was discussed but no action taken, as it would lio necessary to maka an alteration to the rules.
