PRIMARY SCHOOLS' FOOTBALL.
——♦ PRESENTATION OF SHIELDS. The premutation of medals and shields for Rugby football was made to the winning primary schools yesterday by representatives of the Primary Schools Sports Association and the Canterbury Rugby Union. Mr A. McPhail, president oi: the Union, Dr. tS. Seed, tho vice-president, and Mr 11. S. Pearson, of the Schools Sports Association, were among those in the party which visited the schools during the course of the daj*. At I'endalton School the junior middleweight Football Shield was presented to the fpo,tball team, and at Elmwood School members of the A basketball team were presented with medals.
The party then proceeded to Wharenni School. Lower Riccarton. where Dr. Seed presented the junior lightweight shield to the football team, explaining that the object of tho Union was to fester Itugby in the schools not only with physical development in view, but mental and moral as well. Mr H. Davis and Mr Pearson also spoke. Cheers were given for the Union and the team by the assembled school.
At Addington School. where the annual exhibition oi' work wa;> going on, medals were presented to the following members of the winning under 12 aijd undetf J4 seveiv»a-side teams:'— G. Menzies, T3. Rose, J. 8001, E. Dsy. D. Sloan, D. Mackenzie, J. ftolton, A. Anderson, L. Ingram, D. Hearne, A. Atkinson, C. Batstone. H. Henderson, and J. Patterson.
