The world's largest steel ingot, -which 1 weighs 173 tons, has been made by the I English Steel Corporation at its Vic-kens j works (Sheffield) in connexion with the ' forged boiler drums to be installed at tho new power station at Fulhatn, London. A huge ingot is required for tho largest of these drums, which is approximately 40ft long with a sft Sin outside diameter. ' |
