Jon«, ■»»» impressed with, the improvMMnt in tha standard of the blooms shorn. Spseial mention was made of the geraniums Md hyacinths, which were the finest he had seen anywhere this season. An added attrsotion w«* Mr Jones's exhibition 'of specimen daffodils. The blooms receiving championship awuds in the daffodil classes *«• very fin* specimens. Mrs M. J. Flemhag, the judge in the home cookery classes, ! «M confronted with very full benches, and ■WW highly pleased with the quality of the ' i eihibii*. She. expressed the opinion that an _t J «WMlor who could win at Scargill could v/in *4 ' >ti the larger sho»s. The judges in the Mtdlework aeotion, Mrs E. J. Cordner and Mt» Frank Scott, were frankly delighted with the display. They said that some of the viininc pieces were equal to anything they ■had judged anywhere else, and the exhibitors 'should be encouraged to go on, and exhibit st tin shows in the centres. They also cotni stated on the fine exhibitions of "thrift" [ srtieles hy members of the various Women's Institutes in tho Waipara, County. Mr L. W. gtewart was the judge in the school work |: etasiei. He commented on the large number ■of entries and the general high quality of tho «kildr»»'s work. The number of entries in the decorative classes was hotter than usual, snd 111* judge, Mrs Godfrey Eutherford, was j abo (leased with this section, TlWifhow was under the management of Me joint secretaries, Mr T. Tho annual spring flower show organised by St. Luke's Anglican Church and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Glentunnel, wa3 held in the Public Hall, Glentunnel. Tho floral exhibits wore judged by Mrs Ridgen, the needlework section by Mis Derrett, and the primary school section by Mr Cartwright. Stalk were conducted by the Ladies' Guild. ANNUAL SHOW AT WAIMATE.

The annual .-|>riu;r show "1 St. I'aui's Ladies' Guild was held in Olympia Hall, Waimulc. The champion bloom of the show was exhibited by Mr J'. W. S. Jones.
