Much has been written concerning the relative merits of the singlecylinder and - multi-cylinder units. Those who compare the latter with the former unfavourably have had, it seems, little or no personal experience with the modern multi *; they speak from the past or from hearsay, and display that conservatism which is eVer rampant in the* motor-cycle movement, and which, unfortunately, makes manufacturers hesitate to break new ground, is an editoral comment in the "Motor-Cycle." Slowly but surely, . however, the multi is converting the sceptics, and it is only a matter of time before the stalwart champions of the single awake to the charms of the multi. Already one maker has found that of his various models his four-cylinder is the best seller; this in spite of an extremely attractive range of singles. Day by day, as these and other multis make their appearance in everincreasing numbers on the road, and knowledge of their capabilities becomes more widespread, more and more motor-cyclists come round to our belief in the multi and its future.
