LAWN TENNIS.
SPREYDON CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Spreydon Tennis Club Mr H. R. Adams presided. The annual report reviewed the past season's activities and attention was drawn to the necessity for all members loyally supporting the club's officers and doing all in their power to further the club's interests. The balance-sheet showed the finances to be in a healthy condition. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr J. Vosb; vice-presidents, Messrs E. J. Howard, M.P., Digby Neave, Frank Trickett, and Mrs A. Andrew; hon. secretary, Mr H. M. Crompton;* hon. treasurer, Miss Lilian Andrew; hon. auditor, Mr G. Wear; club captain, Mr J. Searing; vice-captain, Miss Merle Andrew; management committee, Messrs Adams, Cowper, Cochrane, Mrs Williams, and .Misses Trickett and Holmes; delegate to Sports Protection Association, Mr IT. M. Crompton: delegates to the C.L.T.A., Messrs Adams and Crompton; social commiteee, Mrs Mooro, Mrs Lester, and Misses Bell, Unwin, Mayfleld, Trickett, Glover, Searing, Neave, and Smith; match committee, Miss M. Andrew, Messrs Searing and Crompton; delegate to Wilding Park Fete Committee, Mr Adams.
Mr A. R. Merrett and Mrs Beaufort were elected life members of the club. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs R. T. Cowper (secretory), R. Wardcll (treasurer), G. Wear (auditor), and H. R. Adams (club captain) for their services during the past season. Tho opening day was fixed for October 15th.

An«tin (England), C-2, 6-0, 7-5. PERRY DEFEATED. (Received September Bth, 7.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. September 7. At Forest Hills Sidney B. Wood (U.S.A.) defeated F. J. Perry (England), 8-6,4-6, 6-0, GO, 7-5. Wilmor L. Alison (U.S.A.) beat E. R. Avory (England), 6-4. 6-1, 6-3.
