TRANSPORT OF TROOPS. PLIGHTS OVER DESERT. (UNITED PRESS JIBSOCXATIOS —BY BLXCWB telegraph—copraiGHT.j CAIRO, Angust IT. With the landing at Ismailia (Lower Egypt) of the last batch of troops from Baghdad, whither they were sent by air owing to tribal disturbances, the Boyal Air Force has successfully carried out the transport of 14 officers and 534 nieft over 1700 miles of practically waterless country. Altogether 18 Vickers Victoria troop-carriers were employed, the average load being five of a crew aoA 18 soldiors. One machine, used to repair breakdowns, carried two spare engines and did valuable work in changing engines in the desert.
