NAZIS RESTIVE.

MARCH ON BERLIN THREATENED. GERMAN POLITICAL SITUATION. HITLER MAY LEAD CABINET. (UHIIEIp PBES9 ASSOCIATION—ET ELSCTHW TELJ-.GKAPH—COPYBIGHT.) (Received August 11th, 8.20 p.m.) LONDON, August 11. The Berlin correspondent of tha "Daily Telegraph" says that a lengthy conference between President von Hmdenburg and Herr von Papen (Chancello;) will be resumed to-day. It is understood that there is a possibility, of Herr Adolf Hitler becoming Chancellor, perhaps also Prussian Premier, but under stringent guarantees. He will be entrusted with power not as a party leader, but as the nominal head of a Cabinet of personalities with. President Hindenburg, though General von Schleicher (Minister for Defence) will be actually in control. The new development depends entirely on the Centre Party's attitude of benevolent neutrality. It is known that the leading members are of opinion that i« is better to have Herr Hitler in office and muzzled than continuing bis activities outside. The question is: Can Hitler be muzzled? The new situation has undoubtedly arisen through the campaign of terrorism necessitating & reconstruction of the Cabinet earner than had been expected. It is persistently rumoured that Nazi storm, troops are planning a march on the capital. Armed police are guarding the railways and public buildings. According to the correspondent of the "Daily Express," President Hindenburg has refused to consider Herr Hitler for the Chancellorship, and has told Herr von Papen that he would | resign the Presidency rather than consent to Herr Hitler's appointment.
