~—_♦_ — ' A BIG DEFICIENCY. (MESS . AMOCJATIO* HLSG»i.U.) AUCKLAND, August 9. A deficiency of £6035 in the estate of Alfred 'W. Bryant, contractor, was shown at a meeting of creditors today. , Bryant started as a carrier and supplier of coal,. firewood, lime, arid cement, and in 1929 his balance-sheet showed a turnover of £68,989 and a profit of £2289. Jn January last he was owed £1997, but had already written oil* £lßl4, duo to a practical cessation of building in the city. Ho assigned his estate in March, and about three shillings in the pound had been paid out. Bankrupt attributed his position to an almost complete collapse of the building trade.
