A BRITISH CHALLENGE.

NEW SEPARATOR FOR NEW ZEALAND. For a long time past foreign countries have had almost undisputed sway in the sales of croam separators ou the New Zealand market. Over a period of ten years of the 70,000 separators sold moro than 60,000 have coma from countries "outside Great Britain. The farming community will, therefore, be interested to learn of a determined British challenge in shape of a new model ball-bearing separator produced by R. A. Lister and Co., Ltd.. of Dursley, Gloucestershire, England, which company has no connexion with any foreign separator manufactured; •' • . ' -."-li. The R. A, Lister Company, .has., omit a machine which it is claimed is at least equal to the best available trom other sources in skimming efficiency, in durability and general construction. Indeed, a report received fronY tlie New Zealand Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., of Hamilton, who made searching practical and scientific tests,.says that

the new Lister has no superior from any other country in the world. The detailed report ia a most interesting one. When Empire trade is a matter or such vital importance every dairy farmer in New Zealand will be pleased to know of Great Britain's challenge, remembering the sound masim, "Buy from those who buy from uu." In 1931 Great Britain took 88 per cent of our primary produce, including 20,000 tons of butter which should have gone to Canada, and foreign countries took only 7 per cent, of our produce. The destinies of the Lister Separator in New Zealand will be controlled .by the Lister Separator . Co. (N.Z.), Ltd., with head office at Auckland and branches at Hamilton, Palmerst'on North and Christchurch. Mr P. K. Miller, the general manager of the new company, resigned his position of general manager of the Alfa-Laval Separator Company to take charge of Lister, which is a fair indication of his faith in the machine and the com--pany. which.: wi11..-. guide. its destiny. • - In a. .recent; interview, Mr- Miller said:—. ; "This new Lister is what T think the dairymen of New Zealand have been waiting for—a British machine which incorporates the proved features or the best separator practice, and which has certain exclusive features of its own. We know what the ".new .Lister wtl! do, because" it 'was tried /and tested thoroughly .under New Zealand conditions hefore being-offered for' sale, in this country. It bears the _ hall-marfe of true British workmanship, think i% wfll be : ia^Sfe*-^^' 1
