INTERESTING FIGURES. The annual average of butter-fat for the 1931-32 season of the Southland And Otago Herd Testing Association 4s instructive. Three hundred herds Trere tested, representing 9588 cows; the butter-fat* was 260.151b a cow, and the average of days milked 237. In the Otago Central group tho highest cow «rodnced 5101b butter-fat, and the fewest 391b; in Middlemarch the respective figures -were 540 and 56; 'Faleri, 649 and 50; Stirling, 621 and 40; Owaka, 616 and 69; Pukerau, 400 and 103; Mataura, 567 and 8o; Edenjdale (IUB cows tested), 670 and su; imeramika, 581 and 77; Waimatuku, SSTSetf and 46; and A 71 "The best herd average was 458.291b fat for a herd of seven cows in the iTaieri group.
