AKAROA AND WAINUI ROAD BOARD.
. «►— At a meeting o£ the Akaroa and Wainui Road Board there ware present: Messrs A. E. Haylock, K. McPhail, S. J. Vogan. and J, Hayward. An apology for absence was received from Mr A. A. Narbey. The clerk" reported that a cattle stop was required on the roadside near the old Barry's Bay wharf, and it was decided to eroct one. , , r _ «..„, Mr Haylock reported that Mrs D. Curry had asked if the Board would metal the road to her property. He said that metal could be got on the road for the work, it was left in the chairman's bands to get an estimate of the cost and have the work done jfr'vogan said that Mr Jas. Stewart had finished Piper's Valley bridge, with the exception of rails for the sides It was left to Mr Vogan to obtain two rails about ion lone for the bridge. Mr Vogan said he had arranged with Kav Bios, to clear spoil from their fence and to charffe the Board with the cost The ehristchureh Citv Council advised that the Board's share of heavy traffic fees was *W 17* M. t ~ .. . . Mr Voan gave notice of motion that a. rate'of Jd in the ibe struck and levied on all rateable property in the Akaroa and Wainui road district. The financial statement showed- Receipts £llO 7s 7d, accounts for payment £531 10s Id, debit balance £528 6s lid.
