OBITUARY.
MR J. CURTIS.
By the death last week at the age of 72 years of Mr Joseph Curtis Spreydon has lost one of its most respected residents. He had lived for 45 years at No. 10 Edenbridge street. Coming to New Zealand in 1879 he engaged in farming in the Chertsey district, but eventually settled in Christchurcb, taking a position in the seed-cleaning department of Stead and (later acquired by Messrs Montgomery and Co.), with which he served for 35 years, retiring about 10 years ago on account of bad health. He is survived by his widow.
