TERRORIST ATTEMPTS ASSASSINATION.
SHOT FIRED AT CALCUTTA '' EDITOR. (UIOTSP PRESS ASSOCZATIOjr—ET BMtCTBIO TBLEQBiPE—COPTRIOHT ) CALCUTTA, August 5. A terrorist attempted to assassinate Sir Alfred Watson, editor of the Calcutta "Statesman," this afternoon. As he was entering his office from the street a Bengali yonth fired a revolver through a side window, missing Kir Alfred Watson's head by a few inches. The assailant, who was overpowered by the office watchman, swallowed poison and died on the way to hospital.
