THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, has notified the secretary of the Dominion South African Veterans' Associa tion that he regrets that, owing to a previous engagement, he will bo unable to open the conference of the association, which will be held in Christcliurch on August 10th.
