MOTOR REGISTRATIONS.
DROP OF OVER 1000. The registrations of all classes of motor vehicles at the Christchurch Post Office for the three months from May Ist until vesterday numbered 10,772, compared with 11,817 lor the same period in 1931, this being a decrease of 1045. The registrations made to-dav have lo be added to the 193*2 figures for purposes of an accurate comparison but these are not expected to be many. . By postponing reliconsing until the spring many motorists are able to save five shillings in the license fee for each month of the registration vear that they do not u-o their vehicle?. Tho registration year actually opens on June Ist. but it is the practice to begin registration on May Ist, in order to lessen the pressure jpf business at the registration office. A comparison of the total registrations in Christchurch of all classes of motor vehicles in the months of Mav, Jung, and July of 193*3 and 1931, is as follows: 1931. 193*2. .Mav 8.500 7.689 June ... 2.708 2,532 Julv ... ... 609 Sol Totals ... 11,817 10,772
