MANNERS OF TRAFFIC INSPECTORS.
TO THB BDITOB: OF THE PBESS. Shy—l am directed by the By-laws Committee ,of the Cbristeburcb City Council to reply to a letter signed "F. A. Fox, M.D." which appeared in Thb Pbbss of May. etb, relating to
complaints against two mounted traffic inspectors. The Council has three inspectors who use motor-cycles, and after careful enquiry it appears that none of these inspectors has any knowledge of Dr. Fox's visit-to. this City, nor do they know anything about the corfiplaints. Dr. Fox's complaints were that an inspector bullied him for an alleged defect in his equipment, driving too fast, an obscured number plate, and abusive language. . As the Council has not any record 01 these breaches of the motor regulations by Dr. Fox and has not any Court proceedings pending, it is evident that lie was not spoken to. by traffic inspectors ' under the control of the, Christchurch, f City Council.—Yours, etc.,\ i J. S. NEVILLE, Town Clerk. May 19th, 1932.
