SOUTH AFRICAN WAR.
MEMORIAL SERVICE AND REUNION. The thirtieth annual reunion and commemoration service of the Veterans' Association of Army, Navy, and Auxiliary Forces will be held in the City on May 28th and 29th. The parade and the service are always held on the Sunday nearest June Ist, which was the date of the signing of the peace* in 1902, after the South African War. The annual reunion will take place on Saturday evening, May 28th, in the Veterans' Hall, Oxford terrace. An important presentation will during the evening of tho Dominion flag of the South African War Veterans' Association, which has been prepared by the daughter of a veteran, Mis 3 Konamai Knights. On tho following day the parade will leave the King Edward Barracks at 2.15 p.m. for the Christchurch Cathedral. The veterans will march with tha Canterbury Regimental Band to Cathedral square by Cashel and Colombo ; streets. After the memorial servico wreaths will be deposited at the statue : of Queen Victoria, in Victoria square. ' On the return to the Barracks the parade will take the salute at the Cathedral.
