KAIKOtfRA. . Miss, Joyce O'Malley (Christchurch) is on a visit to Kaikoura, and is-the guest of Miss Sheila Miles. The usual weekly session of the W.E°A. was held at the Hospital, the subject under discussion being "Schubert " Mr C. Jensen taking the lead.

- ROTHERHAM. The annual general public meeting in connexion with the Rotherham Hall was held recently. The following committee was elected:—Messrs T. C. Robinson, Geo. Popplewell, H DampierCrossley (trustees), E. Britton, J. Thomson, A. J3eaven, D. Mcintosh, and Dr. Smale; secretary Mr A. «. Dickie; auditor, Mr It. Skinner.

PUAHA. Mr and Mrs L. Lo'ndrigan and their daughter, of Kakahi, are the guests, of Mrs Humphries. Miss M. Thomson has returned to Templeton after a visit to her mother. Miss Hayward (Robinson's Bay) has been visiting friends in Puaha. Miss Baker, is spending a holiday with her mother (Christchurcli) The twenty-first birthday celebration of the Puaha School was held in the Lhool. Many old residents and past pupils were present Old time dances Tere held. Mr A. Mould was M.C. A party organised by Mrs A. Mould rnd Mrs Humphries was held at the latter's house last Friday evening, m celebration of the coming.of age or Miss Thelma McQueen. A presentation of a xylonite clock was made by Mr Humphries on behalf of those present. Mr Archio Mould was M.C.

TAI TAPU. The annualWeting of subscribers to tbo Tai Tapu Public Library was held in tfao library. V Mr J. Gilmour P-c----eided. The annual report and balancesheet, showing a credit balance of Li £l4 Id, were, adopted. The following wore elected members of the library Committee: Mr J. Gilmour. (chairman), Messrs John Mackenzie sen., G. Ward, and G. Tobock, Miss L. Forbes. Mesdames M. "Ryan J. Christian, and 0. M. Suckling; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mrs Suckling. The following were appointed to select books for the year: Mesdames Ryan and Suckling; and Mr Gilmour. . At the weekly social arranged by the tennis club, the competition was won by Mrs T. -Ncwall and Mr H. Sanders.

KIMBERLEYj At the hockey and cricket clubs' fortnightly social, the .prize-winners were Mrs F. Manson and Miss U. Hart, and Messrs George Reveley and H. Bedford. The dance music was supplied by Messrs S. Symo and A, Hart. Mr G. C. Reveley was M.C. The annual meeting of the spinsters and -bachelors, held in the hall on Monday evening, Avas well attended. Mr C. Manson was elected chairman and Miss D. Beainan and Mr J. R. Manson joint secretaries. The balancesheet, which showed a credit balanco, was read and adopted. It was decided to hold a ball on the second Friday in June. Miss L. Rogers (Rangiora), who has been the guest of Miss Manson, has returned home. * Miss A. C. Lloyd (WUlowby) is spending the term holidays with Mrs H. Ede. '

HORNBY. The weekly meeting of the AV.E.A. was held Jit the schoolroom. Mr l'*. A. MoTeigue presided. Mr J. McGlinehy adVlrtfssed the members on "Reparation find War Debts." Miss M. Gardiner, nurse at the dental olinie, has returned from a holiday spent at Waithki. Miss D. Walker, of Prebbleton, is the guest or' Mrs E. C. Walker.

RUSSELL'S PLAT. At the fortnightly social and dance, prizes were won bv the following :-*- Mrs Miller, Miss Cooper (Annat), Mr L. Taylor, and Mr Pritchett. Music for the dance was proyided ■ by Mr Humm, and Mr Bethune Was M.C. - Miss Dunean (Springvale) is visiting St. Andrews. Mrs Kennedy, who has been staying with Mrs Irvine, "Wyndale," has returned to Hanmer Springs. Mrs Pritchett is spending a holiday in South Canterbury. Misa Hay ward, who has been the guest of Mrs Hawkins, has returned to her home in South Canterbury.

darfleld. The monthly meeting of the Darfield Branch of the P.W.M.U. was held at the residence of the president, Mrs W. T. Cooke. The Rev. T. Paterson opened the meeting, at which there was a fair attendance of members. Correspondence was received from the China Mission, and Sister Edith, ot the Maori Mission. A» circular letter was also read urging the branch to adopt the ''Forward Movement." Woollen garments, knitted for the Nuhaka Maori Mission, were received. The success of the recent bazaar was considered very satisfactory. Afternoon tea was served to those present. ! The annual meeting of parishioners of §t. Andrew's" Church was held at i Darfield in the Memorial Hall. The vicar, the Rev. A. S. Moffatt, presided s The annual report stated ' that the services had been well attended during the year. Jarman and G. Cridge. At the conclusion of the meetme. a social hour was held. Items were (liven by Mrs J. H. Jarman, Mis«es H Cullen. D. Robinson. MrM. Moffatt, and the Rev. A. S. Moffatt. TEMPLETON. The annual meeting of „the .Templeton Domain Board was held in the Islington Library. The annual report and statement of accounts were adopted. Mr G. P. Kissel, Templeton, was unanimously re-elected chairman for the enming year. The members of the Board, as at present constituted, are:—Messrs G. P. Kissel, E. E. Cun-' een, A. R. Carter (Templeton), Messrs Jaa. Leslie, Morgan Evans, and C. F. Richards (Hornby), and Messrs T.' A. Guv, J. A. Crawford, and A. Chisnall, (Yaldhurat). Mr W. C. Smith is the locretory to the Board.
