LINWOOD METHODIST CHURCH.
OPENING OF NEW BUILDING. The opening of the new Linwood Methodist on the corner of CasheJ street and Ollivier's road, is to take place on June 4th, when, at 3 p.m.-, Mrs, W. J. Dower (one of the oldest members of the congregation) will perform the ceremony. A service will follow in the church, when the Rev. M. A. Rugby-Pratt (president of the Methodist Conference) will give the dedication address. The Rev. F. Greenwood will be the chairman, and others assisting in the service will be the Rev. E. Drake, the Rev. S. Bailey, Mr J. Voss (vice-president of the Methodist Conference), and Mr C. W. Francis. Lieut.-Colonel S. 0. P. Nicholls will unveil the soldiers' memorial window during the service. A tea will follow in the Sunday School and later a choir festival by a united choir from the Christchurch East circuit will be given in the new church. Short addresses will be given by the Revs. A. McNeur and A. Woods and Mr M. Kershaw. On the Sunday following the preacher at both services will be Rev Harold Sharp, of Lower Hutt. The Rev. P. Knight will preach at the afternoon service.
