Andertou, managers of tho Rugby League team vhicli has set out for Australia and New Zealand, both expressed complete satisfaction with the programme arranged by the League authorities in tho Dominion. A full hour, they said, was spent by the council considering it, and they could iiud no part of it which could be improved. Tiie team assembled at the Russell Hotel, Bloomsbury, on Tuesday night preparatory to departure by tile Jervis Bay next morning. They all looked the picture of health, and, it was rather interesting to notico how tho' majority of them towered above tho other guests in the hall and the lounge. As a matter of fact, there are only four men six l'eet in height and over (A. Ellaby, A. Atkinson, M. Hodgson, and F. . A. Butters), but tliey are all so well made and uniformly tail that they appeared a race apart when seen ainon# average human beings. J. Sullivan, the captain, and J. Thompson, the vice-captain, are making their third trip to Australia. B. Evans, A. F. Filde-s, W. Ilorton, W. A. Williams, and Ellaby ar<> making their second trip, and the rest of the 26 players f.ru going out for the first time. Tho captaiu is well pleased with the prospects of the team. "They will play the vranio both on and off the field," lie said. "It is certainly the biggest and fastest team, taken all round, that has ever been on tour to The Dominions. In the three-quarter lino wo have a real surplus of good men. In Ivor Davies wo have probably the fastest off-half in the world. We have pace, but we have lost nothing in weight. Ellarby is our fastest three-quarter, with Brogden next, and Smith, Hudson, and Diiigsdaie are big, last men." i Sullivan, by the way, has kftked 1565 goals and scored 51 tries in eleven seasons. Mr Ilutchins will act as team's manager, and ,Mr Auderton as business and financial manager. The latter made aome comments about the individual members of the team. "We may not have big individual stars this time," he said, "but we are taking out n company of 26 players who will probably do as well as any other team that has gone overseas. In Sullivan, I consider we have the finest full-back in the world. He has been playing better than ever he has played in his eleven seasons for Wigan. He is playing more than ever in support of his three-quarters. Alf. Ellaby is still the best winger in England, and hopes to score some spectacular tries. Hfi will certainly give Australia and New Zealand crowds some thrills. Bryan Evans, who had bad luck on the last tour, we expect' to be one of our chief assets. "As a line of three-quarters the eight men chosen are undoubtedly the best that have gone out to Australia and New Zealand. We

certainly are carrying no passengers, and every man has a clean bill of health. Forwards and Halves. "In J. Feetham we are taking a loose forward who lias scored more tries this season than any other forward in England. Butters, the other loose forward, it will bo remembered, is the man who saved the try which would have meant Australia winning the Ashes. "Joe Thompson is one of the oldest players, and this is liis third visit to Australia. Last Saturday he had the honour of leading the Leeds Club to victory in the Challenge Cup final at Wigan against Smith. Of the scrum halves. Evans and Adams slvouUl ■ quite successful. There was some difficulty in choosing the off-halves, but in Davies «e have a man who is speedy and tricky, and in Pollard a player who is of the sound, steady type. lam sure one or the other will not f<U "Finally, we have the necessary experience, speed, and and last, but no means least, we have pluck.
