OBITUARY.

MR A. R. MERCER. The death occurred ori Tuesday at Christchurch of Albert Richard Mercer, at the age of 37 years. Mr Mercer was the second son of Mr and Mrs Richard Mercer, of Waiau, and formerly of Christchurch. Although Mr Mercer had not enjoyed the best of health for some time, his sudden and untimely death was not expected. Mr Mercer had been prominently connected with the dairying business for many years,, and lately in conjunction with Mr J. Harris erected what m probably one of the most up-to-date dairies in Christchurch. In 1919 be married .Nancy Hall, youngest daughter of Mrs Marshall and the late Mr D. M. Marshall, of Christchurch. .He leaves a' widow and onq son.

The funeral took place at the Burwood Churchyard on Thursday- afternoon, and was attended by a large number of friends and sympathisers. The Rev. J. F. Ferori conducted. the burial service.

MR JAMES WILLIAM TULETT. The. death occurred last Monday morning, of Mr James William Tplett, a well-known farmer of Styx, who died at the early age of 51 years. Mr Tulett. who was the son of Mr and Mrs J.. W. Tulett, was born in Timaru, and with the rest of the family camo to Christchurch and later on settled at Harewood, where he resided up to the date of his death. Mr Tulett was a very hard-working man, and of a mast genial disposition, and ho will be missed by a large number of friends. He was for 35 years a well-known member of the Styx Gun Club, and was interested in most sports. In 1905 he married Waitara, the daughter of the late Mr and- Mrs William Clark, formerly of Harewood. He is survived by his wife, six sons, and three daughters. He also leaves a father.. mother, and three brothers and three sisters. The funeral toofe place at the Harewood Cemetery on Wednesday, the funeral service being

conducted by the Rev. W. H. Qrbetl. Oyer 50 cars followed the hearse. \ The pall-bearers were Messrs A. and C. Tulett A. Philip (brother-in-law), F. Preece, M. Higham, and B. Sisson.
