WAIPARA COUNTY ELECTIONS.

TO THE EDITOR OF TUB PRE3S. Sir, —I have noticed tlio correspondence (is it propaganda?) in your columns recently advocating having no Waipara County Council and Hurunui Kabbit Board elections this year on the ground of economy. By all means let us have the County election, and 1 ; agree with "Waikari Ratepayer" that : it may be a good investment if changes could bo made for the better. One docs not have to live "a little nearer j the centre" to sco things that leave , one wondering. With regard to tho , Hurunui Rabbit Board, why do not ] some energetic ratepayers start a move- ( mcnt to nominate men in every district ] pledged, if elected, to abolish the Board. This would bo well supported, and should have been done long ago. Tho work at present being done by this Board could be donp by Government officers at a substantial saving to *both tho Government and the Board's f present ratepayers. As an economy ] measure this appeals to me.—Yours, 1 etc.,
