| BUSINESS FOR TO-NIGHT'S • ; ' MEETING. . s Amongst the business, down fop consideration at to-night's meeting of the Christchurch City Council is the following:— Sale of Council's reserve situated in Rhodes street to, the proprietors of the Rangi-Euru School. 1 Consideration of tenders for . aerial cable and for crossarm timber.. Application for permission to erect hoarding in Ferry road close to .the Heathqo'te river and near the Tramway Board's tanks. * Letter from the Christchurch Fire Board fixing the levy for the current year at £SBBO. Consideration of the following, notices of motion, the first two of which have been held over from the last meeting:— Cr. Thurston: That Section. 368 of By-law No. 1, dealing with the distribution of handbills or dodgesrs on publie streets, etc., be. rescinded. - ' Cr. Armstrong: Believing that the interest of the country-can best be served by a policy of preference to Nev Zea-land-made goods, the Council ■ instruct the Municipal Electricity Department to terminate at the earliest poefsible date the further importation of electric rahges and in future to handle exclusively New Zealand manufactured ranges. , Cr. Evans: In order to overcome the deadlock at present existing, and--to consider ways and means of common agreement between the City Council and the Eiccarton Borough Council concerning improvements and upkeep of Riccarton avenue, the Riccnrton Borough Council be written to asking for a conference of three representatives from each body, together with an independent chairman. Cr. Fraer: That a' committee be set up to devise some method of controlling bicycles in crowded thoroughfares.
