DEFAULTING SUBSCRIBERS. (MOM OCR OWM COBa*SPO*DEKT.) LONDON. March 9. Last year Great Britain paid 500 for the upkeep of tho League ot Nations. This jear she lias been assessed to pay £182,000, tho increase being due to tho abandonment of tho gold standard. The total world subscriptions to tho League have been £11,079,090. So tho Empire has paid more than a fifth. China, who has paid nothing for eight years, now owes more than £400,000. China still retains all her rights on the League Council and now is in mortal conflict with that other powerful member of tho League of Nations—Japan. China is not tho only League member in default. Some other debtors are: — £ Peru ... ... 77,44-1 Argentina 61,113 Bolivia ... 31,427 Ttaly ... " ... 37,000 France ... ... -'O,OOO Thirty other smaller nations are also in arrears.
