SHIPPING NOTES. The Orepuki arrived at Lyttelton last evenlnf, f /°™ Westport with coal. She is to sail to-day for Bluff. The Totara is due hero this morning from Westport. Sho will discharge coal, and is to load on Monday for New Plymouth an.i Greymouth. Tho „P ale is to *rrivo here this morning from Timaru, and is to sail this afternoon with cargo for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Tlio Foxton was expected to leave Foxton early yesterday morning for Lyttelton, and is due here to-day. She loads for Foxton. The Cornwall is nil expected arrival at Lyttelton to-day from Wellington for final loading. She is timed to sail on Monday for London and West Coast ports of tlio United Kingdom, via Capo Horn and Montevideo. The Alexander i'b now due here on Tuesday from Tarakoho with cement. After discharging sho will load for Nelson and nearby ports. The Opihi should arrive here on Tuesday from Dunedin, Oamaru. and Timaru to load for Nelson and New I'lymouth. Sho sails via Wellington. The Maui Pomare is expected to arrlvo here to-morrow evening from Apia and Niue, She is to sail on Tuesday for Wellington, thence Apia and Niue. The Holmglen is now due here to-morrow from Wellington, and will load on Monday for Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Waikato. Thai. Ilolmdalo is expected to arrlvo at 1 Lyttelton on Wednesday from Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru. She loads for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Poolta is timed to loud here on April 20th for Napier and Gisbornc. The Waipiata should arrive here on Wednesday from Bluff, Dunedin, arid Timaru, and will take in cargo for Auckland. The Kairanga is due here on Tuesday with a large cargo from Auckland, including transhipments ex the Ilauraki. She will probably sail on Wednesday for Dunedin. The Waikouaiti, due here on Tuesday from Dunedin, has a large cargo of coal from Newcastle, and general from Sydney for discharge. She will later load for Sydney, and is to sail about Thursday, via Timaru and Bluff. ' The Storm should arrive here to-morrow from the north, and is to sail on Monday for Bluff. Dunedin, and Timaru. The Awahou should arrive at Lytteltonv tomorrow from Gishorne, and is to load on Monday for Waikokopu, Tolaga Bay, Tokomaru Bay, and Hicks Bay. PRESENT QREW TO BE PAID OFF. TEES MAY SAIL NEXT WEEK. The Tecs dispute remains unsettled, and the crew will be paid off to-day. It is expected that a new crow will be signed on next week, and the Tees will sail for the' Chatham Islands, calling at all points. NORWEGIAN STEAMER PENYBRYN. A WOMAN PURSER. The Norwegian steamer Fenybryn, which arrived at Lyttelton at midday yesterday , from Nauru Island with phosphates, has a ! woman purser among her officers. She is Madame Salveson, an Englishwoman, who of Captain Salveson, master of the vessel. That her position is no sinecure was quickly proved to the boarding officials who met the vessel, and Madame Salveson was able to supply all the particulars and documents required by the Customs officers. But there is another fomale member of the crew, the baby daughter of Captain and Madame Salveson. The Penybryn is a cargo vessel, and carries no passengers. So the little flaxenhaired girl, aged one year and nine months, appears on the ship's articles as "cabingirl.*' The Penybryn is to sail to-day for Port Chalmers 10 continue discharge. MAIMOA SAILS FOR LONDON. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner Maimoa sailed from Lyttelton last evening for London, via Panama and Kingston. The Maimoa was a full ship, her cargo consisting of mutton, lamb, wool, cheese, butter, and apples. The apples include nearly 'JOOO cases shipped at Lyttelton. TAIROA LEAVES BALBOA.
