RIOT IN A NANKING THEATRE.

A riot occurred in a Nanking theatre during the showing of a film depicting fighting on the Shanghai front. Soldiers in the audience objected to slurs on the military, and their action caused real fighting, resulting in the interior of the theatre being wrecked. Three people were thrown through the upper windows into the street, and many others were seriously injured. The arrival of a large force of police prevented the burning of the theatre. CHINA IN ARREARS TO LEAGUE. COST OF COMMISSION. GENEVA, March 23.. Though China in 1931 paid £60,000 to the League, her total of arrears is £380,000. China and Japan are sharing the cost of the League Commission to Manchuria, estimated at £40,000.
