A riot occurred in a Nanking theatre during the showing of a film depicting fighting on the Shanghai front. Soldiers in the audience objected to slurs on the military, and their action caused real fighting, resulting in the interior of the theatre being wrecked. Three people were thrown through the upper windows into the street, and many others were seriously injured. The arrival of a large force of police prevented the burning of the theatre.
