The church had been decorated. Miss Rhodes was the organist and the sermon was preached by the. Rev. J.- Farrar. The gifts of fruit and. produce were sent to the Presbyterian Orphanage. The Seftoii sub-branch of the PI mike t Society held a "bring and buy'' afternoon on Wednesday at the residence of the president, Mr P. J • Thorne. There was a good attendance and the sum of over £3 was realised by t|ic sale of gifts. It has been arranged that a room shall be at the disposal of the nurse once a month. For the purpose of recording weights a new scale has been bought by the Society. Afternoon tea was provided by Mesdames C. Allington and A. Ashworth. WOODEND. On Monday evening in the Sunday School Hall the harvest festival was concluded by a social and sale. Mrs Shea gave a piano solo, Miss Merle Little a monologue. Miss Ixjuie Moody a recitation, and Mrs Heald and Mr Robertslmw contributed songs. The produce was sold by Mr A. Smith. Tile-Ladies' Guild had a stall, on which plain and fancy goods were displayed WEST MELTON. A successful dance held in the Wcrtt Molton Hall recently. Mrs Wilson's Orchestra supplied the music, while an extra was played by Miss P. Roper. Messrs R. Nortlicott and N. Carter were M.C.'s. DARFIELD. The Rev. T. Paterson presided over the first monthly meeting for the year of the Darfield branch of the Pr'esbvterian Women's Missionary Union, whiah wa,s held on Tuesday afternoon. Arrangements were made for the annua) sale of work, to be held at Kirwee next month. The primary schools' swimming carnival was held in the Daifield baths on Tuesday.
