YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. Markets generally were firm on call yesterday, and there was a moderate turnover of diversified business. Transactions exclusive of vestibule business were: 300 Comm. Bank of Aust. 30 E., S.. and A. Bank. 25 National Bank of Australasia (£5 paid). 100 Bank of New Zealand. 100 Christchurch Gas. 200 New Zealand Breweries. 100 British Tobacco (cum div.). 100 Dunlop Perdriau Rubber. 20Q Mt. Lyell. 232 Woolwortlis (N.Z.), pref. rights. 100 Golden Dawn. Commercial Bank of Australia shares were firm at 13s lid, sellers staying in at that price, buyers at 13s lOcl. • E., S., and A. Bank shares eased to £4, buyers staying in at that price, sellers at £4 os. National Bank of Australasia £5 paid shares realised £4 15s, closing quotations £4 16s sellers, £4 13s buyers. Bank of New Zealand shares remained unaltered at 42s 7d, market closing 42s 6d buyers, 42s 9(i sellers. Miscellaneous. Unsupported sellers of Standard Insurance shares reduced their limits to 39s 6d. National Insurance shares were easier with sellers at 12s, buyers at lis 3d. Sellers of Dalgety and Company shares came down to £7 ss, buyers at £7. Christchurch Gas shares had business at 24s 2d, and there were further buyers at 24s id, sellers at 24s sd. New Zealand Breweries shares charged hands at 23s 6d and 23s 9d, and more were wanted at 23s 4d, sellers at 245. There was a closer market for Tooths, which were quoted 22s 3d buyers, 23» sellers. British Tobaccos* cum dividend relapsed to 26s 6d, market closing- 26s 2d buyers, 26s 8d sellers. Dunlop Rubbers realised 10s, sellers staying in at that price, buyers pr <v- fid. Mt. Lyells were easier with dealings at 19s 3d and 19s 2d, and fui tlier sellers at 19s 3d, buyers at 19s lii. Woolworths (N.Z.) preference "rights" were placed at 2s lOd, closing quotations 2s 7d buyers, 3s lOd sfllers. / Golden Dawn Gold Mining shares changed hands at 7s 2d and 7s 3d, buyers staying in at the higher figure, sellers at 7s 4d.
