The revenue returns issued to-night, ' ivincthe figures up to last Saturday, i no doubt that a balflnced Blldget will be successfully realised. During Inst week the deficit was rev i v v £12,800,000, and amounted Tthe end of the week to £24,200,000, compared with £44,100,000 on the same date- last year. The total ■ receipts from inland rI .TH)UO taxes since April Ist last amount to . £411,700,000, leaving i"-39 300,000 still to be collected to reIlisa tho revised Budget estimate of £i01,000,000. Further receipts of £10,100,000 will bring the total of in~m'o and surtax up to tlio amount estimated to be received in tho year. Customs and Excise receipts are 400,000 up on last year, compared with an estimated increase on tho jnhola year £7,600,000. The total expenditure has amounted to £807,300,000, which is £24,700,000 j css th»n that to the corresponding date yoar. The revised Budget contemplated a total reduction in tho year of £16,200.000, but supplementary {ttioatos "of £500,000 have since been prswiited, tho floating debt was reduced in tho wek by £10,100,000, and now stands gb £612,375,000, being £7,000,000 less tfon. at the corresponding date last year.
