In order to land his aeroplane into the wind at the Wanganui airport, on Friday afternoon, Mr F. C. Norton found that he had to hurdle a lorry, a Moth aeroplane, and the club hangar. This he succeeded in doing, making an excellent three-point landing, but unfortunately Ins right-hand tyre burst in pulling.up, with the result that the aeroplane slewed round and struck a sand-bank, breaking the propeller and slightly damaging the undercarriage Mr Norton was not hurt, and the ehxm.irred machine was repaired overnight.
