AEROPLANE DAMAGED.
MACHINE OVERTURNS IN LANDING. (P**«» ASSOCIATION T«LXO»AIf-) FOXTON, January 18. A home-assembled aeroplane, owned by Mr'C. Bowden, of Palmerston North, and piloted by Captain Park,, who was flying from Palmerston North to the beach, crashed in landing at the. Manawatu Heads this morning, The pilot and owner escaped injury, although Captain Park suffered- an abrasion over-the left eye. The aeroplane' struck a sand hummock on landing, completely overturning. The wings, rudder, propeller and the engine were damaged. The machine' /will be dismantled fot"removal to Palmerston.
FORCED LANDING. MISHAP AT DUNEDIN. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TILEGEAMS.) DUNBDLN, January 18. While flying the Otago Aero Club's Moth over St. Clair yesterday, the pilot, Mr Burbridge, was compelled "by engine trouble to make a forced landing on the golf links The aeroplane turned a complete somersault after touching, and the pilot Was fortunate to escape injury. The wings and the propeller of the .machine were fairlv extensively damaged.
