was first, his model covering over 200 yards in 55 seconds. Colin Larsen flew his model for 38 seconds. The construction prize was won by G. T. Blackburn, with F. G. Stanley, second. The first prize in each case was a free flight and the second prizes were tickets to the Majestic Theatre. Instruction Scholarships. The following entrants who went Oil Company's pilot instruction machine at the Farmers', were selected for consideration in the final tests:— Jessie Weir, 39 Bandolpb street, Woolston; F. J. Drury, 111 North Avon road; F. Molloy, Buccleugh street, Greymouth ; A. Shah, c/o. Central Fire Station, Christchurch. Jessie Weir was judged the most promising pupil, thus winning a free flight in a Canterbury Aero Club's machine.
